Chapter 1
I walk down the street. There is a big crack in the sidewalk.
I am not being present and alert. I am thinking about the past or the future…I fall in the crack and sprain my ankle. I am lost and confused as to how this could happen to Me. Its NOT my Fault..its just an accident!! It takes me a while…. I make myself find a way out and get going again.
Chapter 2
I walk down the same street again. There is a big crack in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it again…I am not being present..I Am still thinking about the past or the future.
I fall in the crack and re-sprain the same ankle again. I can’t believe this… I’ve fallen in the same hole again. But, It’s NOT my Fault…It still takes me a long time to get out and get going again.
Chapter 3
I walk down the same street. There is a big crack in the sidewalk.
I see it there… but, I am not being present and alert again.. I am still caught up in the past or the future. I fall in it again.. It’s become an old habit of Mine ….but my eyes are open and alert, I Am consciously present and Aware in this moment…I know where I am, I AM awake .. I finally get it.. I take Full responsibility..its my fault..I get out immediately and get going again.
Chapter 4
I walk down the same street again…this has become an habitual pattern of Mine.
There is a big crack in the sidewalk. This time, though…
I am being present and alert NOW. I Am NOT thinking about the past or the future..I walk around it.
Chapter 5
I am awake and Alert Now… I have changed that old habit of Mine.
I walk down another street!! I am Free and clear of that old pattern…A bit more Aware and Alert in the Here and Now!
